Project Root Support

Sustainable Mental Health Support for Humanitarians

Our Mission

Prevent burnout, enhance coping, and contribute to a stronger, more resilient humanitarian sector founded on wellbeing and care, in which supporters can work in a fulfilled and sustainable way.

Our Vision

A culture of care within humanitarian organisations in which every individual has access to consistent and tailored mental health support.

What We Do

We work with organisations to provide long-term one-to-one tailored counselling and psychotherapy sessions for humanitarian workers.

We offer holistic mental health support to organisations through consultations and risk-assessments.

We ensure that all those supporters within an organisation are given a consistent safe space with one of our specially trained counsellors throughout their humanitarian role.

Are you a humanitarian organisation looking to support the wellbeing of your staff and volunteers?

Get in touch with us and we will:

  • Assess the mental wellbeing and capacity of those within the organisation.

  • Collaborate with you to develop a tailor-made mental health plan for the organisation.

  • Perform risk assessments and offer one-to-one counselling and psychotherapy to all team members who request it.

How It Works

Get Involved

We are always looking for passionate and motivated individuals to support our mission. Whether you are a mental health professional or simply someone who would like to contribute to the wellbeing of humanitarians in your own way, do not hesitate to contact us to find out more about volunteer opportunities and job openings.

In the context of our work in migration, the significance of having strong mental health support cannot be overstated. Our team often deals with highly stressful and emotionally taxing situations. The mental health services provided have been crucial in helping our staff maintain their well-being, enabling them to provide the best possible support to the communities we serve. This support has not only improved individual resilience but has also fostered a more cohesive and supportive team environment.
